Terpenes, on Our Shelf

Open a jar and the first thing you notice is the smell: citrus, pine, lavender, earth. Much of that is terpenes, aromatic compounds the plant makes alongside its cannabinoids, and a lab panel measures them.

What turns up most

Across the lab panels behind the products we carry, from every brand on the shelf, these are the terpenes you are most likely to find:

Caryophyllene: in nearly every panel.

Limonene: citrus. In about nine panels in ten, and the one that leads the most panels.

Linalool: floral, like lavender. In about four panels in five.

Myrcene: earthy and musky. In about three panels in four.

Humulene: in more than half.

Pinene: fresh pine.

We promise no effect from any terpene. What terpenes reliably shape is aroma and flavor, and that is reason enough to care about them.

Why they are fragile

Terpenes are volatile: they evaporate, and heat drives them off faster. How a product is stored matters for that reason.

How we keep them in ours

Our rosin is solventless, and our vape hardware uses all-glass and stainless interiors with ceramic coils, chosen to keep terpenes intact. Every Medizin product is third-party tested for terpene content, and the results are on its certificate of analysis.

At home

Keep the jar closed, cool and out of the light. A sealed jar in a cupboard is the simplest way to hold on to what the lab measured.
